Notes from Cheryl (11/29/05)

Thanksgiving Break was a blast! Everyone was home for the holidays! Wednesday night I went to the Ranch with some friends and had a good ol' time dancing. Thursday I was with my relatives all day and did some late night Wal-mart shopping with my favorite girl cousins. Friday was a zoo. Shopping was insane! It was like a mad rush for everything, plus half the stuff on my list of things to get were already sold out! Friday and Saturday night I hung out with more friends that came home, and Sunday was dedicated to writing my 5 page nutrition class report and studying for my sociology midterm #3.

I am a little disappointed that I didn't get to see all my friends that came home for the holidays, but I'll get to see them all real soon. In fact, this is my last week of Autumn Quarter. Next week is FINALS!!

Notes from Cheryl (11/16/05)

In my last blog I was stressing out about my chemistry test and scheduling for classes so I just wanted to let you all know that I did well on the test and I was able to schedule for the classes that I wanted without getting on any waitlist.

I really enjoyed my 3 day weekend thanks to Veteran's Day! I went out Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, so I was pretty exhausted by the end. Actually, I ended up calling it quits Saturday night around midnight cause the 4 1/2 hours of sleep that I got the night before was starting to catch up to me. Hehe. And by the way, I really enjoyed the lawn decorations in my yard when I woke up Sunday morning. If anybody is missing a "____ for School Board" or "____ for township trustee" sign, it was probably one of the many signs that was in my yard! I'm still trying to figure out which one(s) of my GREAT friends (haha) decided to do this to me, so if you know who it was, let me know!

Anyway...Do you know what week it is??? It's BEAT M!CH!G@N WEEK!!!! Columbus has some great events going on throughout the week. Check out http://www.ohiounion.com/bmw They have blood drives going on, a HUGE pillow fight, a "Wing the Wolverines" contest, a flag football tournament and more! But don't worry. Lima is participating in the Michigan Week fun. The Student Senate here at the Lima Campus is hosting a OSU/Michigan party on Saturday!

Notes from Cheryl (11/9/05)

Today is a very nerve-wrecking day. I've decided to blog to try to reduce my stress. Haha. I have a Chemistry midterm in like an hour and I have all these equations and formulas getting all mixed up in my brain plus on the vocabulary terms.

Besides Chemistry being on my mind, I get to schedule for next quarter's classes tonight and I checked the course availability for the classes I want to take and I'm a little worried. One of the classes I want to take has only one seat left and another one only has like 3 seats left, so I might end up on the waiting list, which will suck.

This past weekend was awesome though. I went down to Columbus to tailgate. Cody, the other student who blogs, went down there too. It was tons of fun! I met up with some other former OSU Lima students.

Well, I unfortunately need to study some more. Hopefully it will turn out to be a good day and not a bad one. Bye!

Notes from Cody (11/07/05)

Greetings everyone,

I'd like to start off by saying that this past weekend was one of the best times I've ever had. And believe it or not, it actually came because of school.

Somebody had the GREAT idea to give Lima students an opportunity to head to Columbus to tailgate for the OSU Vs. Illinois game. There were like 25 of us all together and the trip served as a great opportunity to get to know classmates and have a good time!

The trip there felt like it only took 5 minutes because we were having so much fun. Everything went very well plus transportation and food was free (which made it EVEN better...lol)

Before the game we attended the Ohio State Skull session which was mind-blowing. We joined thousands of fellow Buckeyes in St. Johns Arena and I got my first taste of live Ohio State marching band. It was like a massive pep rally but with an awesome band!

After the skull session we went to the Longaberger Alumni House and watched the game on a huge projector and had a good time.

The weekend was simply amazing! I met a lot of new people, made a lot of friends and came to appreciate Ohio State Lima even more. For a long time I thought that being at a regional campus sacrificed the experience, but this weekend made me realize that I was just overlooking opportunities and overlooking the fact that there are tons of cool people floating around this place!

By the way, in the picture I'm on the far right with my fist in the air...lol

Anyways, I must stop reminiscing and get back to my homework!

Thanks for stopping by!
Cody

Wow, it’s been forever since I’ve managed to stop by and make an entry!

I’ve spent the past few weeks with my nose in a book but finally I found a chunk of free time, which is great!

My classes are going well, English 110 is proving to be pretty intensive but practice makes perfect, I guess...lol Right now we’re focusing on argumentative essays which makes for interesting subjects and also involves a lot of discussion.

My Math class is going well too, we’re approaching the midterm so I’m trying to step it up a notch and make sure that I really have a strong grasp on the information. I’m not all that worried though, the other tests and quizzes really stressed me out but now I know what to expect.

Psychology is going great, and I’m pretty confident in saying that it’s my favorite class. Professor Handley is an interesting guy, as are his lectures. We just found out Tuesday that we get to participate in a hypnotism experiment. I’m really looking forward to that. Hopefully I won’t bark like a dog or do something idiotic!

Choir is going well, we’re getting our pieces together well. We’ve recently busted out several Christmas songs that I love. One of the more interesting songs is called “Sleigh Bells,” it is similar to “Carol of the Bells” but it’s more dramatic. I’m really looking forward to our performances, I think we’re going to do great!

My last class, which ended Thursday is USAS. It was an easy, yet informative class. It’ll be nice to have some free time to get my work done early, instead of late at night...

Now that I have all of the “work” talk out of the way it’s time for the fun stuff! Tomorrow (Nov. 5) OSU Lima is sending busses full of students to the OSU vs. Illinois game to tailgate and have a good time! We also get to attend a Skull Session, which is like a large scale pep rally. I’m really excited, a few of my friends from class are going too so I don’t think it can get any better! I’m planning on taking my digital camera so if I get any good shots of the weekend I’ll post them so you can check them out!

Hopefully I’ll be in here more often now that I have a block of free time where my USAS class used to be.

And if you get a chance, add me on facebook!

Until next time,
Cody Dysert
